Description

The mango tree, scientifically known as Mangifera Indica, is a tropical fruit tree that belongs to the Anacardiaceae family. It is native to South Asia but is now widely cultivated in tropical regions around the world. The tree can grow up to 60cm to 2.5m in height, depending on the variety and growing conditions.

The mango tree has a dense, spreading canopy with a thick trunk and dark green, glossy leaves that are 15-35cm long. The tree produces small, fragrant flowers that are either male or hermaphrodite. The fruit of the mango tree is a large, oval-shaped drupe that can weigh up to 2kg. The skin of the fruit is smooth and waxy, and the flesh is juicy and sweet, with a unique flavor that varies depending on the variety.

Mango trees require a warm, humid climate and well-drained soil to thrive. They are typically grown from seed, but grafting
